How many people are on a small-group catamaran?

Up to 14 on this one. The listing's group-size line says 14 and its notes say a maximum of 15, so expect 14 or 15 on board including your party; 1 of the 10 latest reviews describes a group of 15. That compares with 20 on the day catamaran and the luxury catamaran, and 50 to 55 on the sunset catamaran. The boat is a Lagoon 450 sailing catamaran, so 14 guests leaves room to find shade or a spot at the bow.

Morning from Ammoudi, sunset from Vlychada

The departure port depends on the time you book. Morning cruises leave from Ammoudi Bay below Oia. Sunset cruises leave from Vlychada Marina and sail below Oia as the light goes before returning to port. Pickup starts almost 1.5 hours before departure, depending on where you stay. On the 15th of the month the sun sets at about 20:37 in June and 19:27 in September. When we checked on 27 October 2026, the next date on sale was 15 April 2027, so this boat does not appear to run in late autumn and winter.

The route

Catamarans cannot moor on the beaches, so every swim is from the boat. The crew can change the stops without notice in bad weather.

  • Hot springs — First swim, in warm mineral water with Nea Kameni in view.
  • Aspronisi, the lighthouse, Akrotiri and Indian Rock — Seen from the deck.
  • White Beach — Swim or sunbathe while the barbecue is cooked on board.
  • Red Beach — Snorkelling, with gear provided.
  • Below Oia — Sunset option only.

What all-inclusive covers

The barbecue is cooked on the spot: pork chops or chicken fillet (grilled vegetables for vegetarians), shrimp saganaki, pasta with red sauce, stuffed vine leaves, tzatziki, Greek salad and pita. Gluten-free pasta is available with notice. Soft drinks, local white wine, beer and water are unlimited. Snorkel gear, floats, towels, blankets, a map of the island and a place to rinse off seawater are on board, with an English-speaking captain and crew. Tips are the one listed extra.

Is $145 worth it against the other catamarans?

You pay $57 more per person than the sunset catamaran and $50 more than the day catamaran. For a couple, that is $114 or $100 more. In return you get roughly a quarter of the sunset boat's guests, or 6 fewer than the day boat, plus beer, which neither includes. If you are four or more, price the private catamaran too: it is sold as a private cruise from $129 per person, though the listing sets its own minimum party.

Who should book a different cruise

If 14 strangers is still too many, look at the private catamaran. If price matters more than space, the day catamaran has the same kind of live guide for $50 less. If you visit between November and mid-April, this listing showed no dates when we checked, while the day catamaran and the sailing catamaran did. Not sure a cruise suits you at all?
